Designed in the Netherlands.
Made in Portugal.
Why Mr Main Man is designed in the Netherlands and Produced in Portugal.
Mr Main Man is built on experience.
I’ve been working in menswear for over twelve years - across design, concept development and product creation. From outerwear and knitwear to shirts and jersey, I’ve worked closely with garment technicians and development teams to translate ideas into garments that are commercially strong and technically sound.
That experience shapes how this brand is built.
When I started Mr Main Man, I didn’t want to create “big size fashion.” I wanted to create modern menswear - designed properly for bigger proportions.
That difference defines the brand.
Designed in the Netherlands
I’m Dutch. And that influences how I design.
Dutch design is structured, modern and intentional. It values proportion over decoration and longevity over trend. It removes what isn’t necessary and refines what is.
That’s the handwriting behind Mr Main Man.
Clean lines.
Balanced proportions.
A premium feel without excess.
Plus-size menswear deserves that same level of refinement as any other category.
Experience changes how you approach development
Over the years, I’ve seen how strong garments are built - and how easily quality can shift when design and development are disconnected.
A garment is not just a sketch. It’s the result of decisions about pattern, construction and fabric - made early and made carefully.
Those decisions determine how something fits, how it holds shape and how long it lasts.
That’s why where something is made is never a random decision.
Why we produce in Portugal
We produce in Portugal because of its experience and long tradition in garment manufacturing.
There is a deep understanding of construction, fabric handling and finishing. The technical execution is precise. The standard of workmanship is high.
When you design garments with clean proportions and refined details, you need a production environment that understands how to execute them properly.
Portugal offers that foundation.
Development is collaborative
Production is not distant for us.
Luisa oversees development locally in Portugal. Together with Femmie, our garment technician, and myself, we work closely on fit and refinement before styles move into production.
Fit is developed - not corrected. Especially when working with extended size ranges, that refinement matters.
Alignment between design, pattern and factory is essential.
Working at a focused scale
We don’t build volume-driven collections.
We focus on fewer pieces and refine them thoroughly. That gives room for attention — to fabric choice, to construction details, to proportion.
Attention improves garments.
Designed in Europe. Made in Portugal.
Designing in the Netherlands and producing in Portugal allows us to combine modern European design thinking with experienced garment craftsmanship.
It’s not a slogan.
It’s a structural decision.
And it shows in the final garment.
