Sizing & Fit

How do I find my right size?

Start with our Fit Check tool.

Based on your height, weight and age, it recommends the size that will suit your body best. It’s the easiest and most accurate way to find your fit.

Prefer to double-check? You can also measure your chest and waist with a tape and compare them to our Size Guide.

Once you know your size, you can rely on it across the collection.

Our tops (shirts, polos, overshirts and tees) are available from XL to 5XL.

Our trousers are sized in inches (38–44). the sizes link back to the waist size

What makes Mr Main Man different from other plus size brands?

We don’t scale up from a size medium. We start from a 3XL base.

Our fit is built around a 3XL avatar developed from the measurements of real bodies - not a standardized size chart. From there, every proportion is carefully balanced.

That means extra room where it matters -across the chest, shoulder, upper arm and thigh - while keeping structure and shape so the garment doesn’t feel oversized or loose. Length, sleeve width and overall balance are adjusted to how bigger bodies actually move and sit.

The result is a clean silhouette, natural comfort and a fit you feel comfortable in, the moment you put it on.

What if I’m between two sizes?

If you’re between sizes, choose based on how you prefer your fit.

For a slightly more relaxed feel, go up. For a sharper silhouette, go down. Our fabrics are selected with comfort and movement in mind, so both options will sit naturally on the body.

If you’re unsure, use our Fit Check app for a personalised size recommendation or send us an email at info@mrmainman.com

Products & Quality

What are your clothes made of?

We choose our fabrics based on how they feel, how they move and how they perform in daily life — not just how they look.

The Shirts are made from high-quality cotton Oxford woven in Portugal. The mill works according to BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which means the fabric is produced with responsibly sourced cotton and tested for harmful substances.

The Polos are made from COOLMAX® performance fabric, a technical fabric designed to move moisture away from the body and help regulate temperature, which makes it very comfortable to wear throughout the day.

The Chinos are made with TENCEL™, a fibre derived from wood pulp that is known for its softness, breathability and durability. The fabric mill works according to BCI, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and GOTS standards, and the trousers are produced in Portugal.

We select our fabrics so the garments remain comfortable, keep their shape and become reliable pieces in your wardrobe over time.

Where are your garments produced?

All Mr Main Man garments are produced in Portugal.

Portugal has a long tradition in garment manufacturing and is known for its high level of craftsmanship and construction quality. We work with specialised manufacturers who understand fabric, fit and finishing at a very high level.

Producing in Europe allows us to work closely with our suppliers, monitor quality and produce in smaller, more controlled quantities. It’s a more hands-on way of working, and you can see that in the final garment.

How do I take care of my Mr Main Man pieces?

All Mr Main Man garments should be washed at 30°C.

We recommend washing inside out, with similar colours, and air drying after washing. Avoid tumble drying, as this can affect the shape, colour and lifespan of the garment.

Iron inside out on low heat if needed. Always check the care label inside the garment for specific instructions.

Taking proper care of your garments helps them maintain their fit, colour and overall appearance, so they remain reliable pieces in your wardrobe for years.

Sustainability & Production

Do you produce your garments in a responsible way?

Yes — but for us, responsibility starts with making a good product, not with marketing terms.

All our garments are produced in Portugal, by manufacturers who specialise in high-quality menswear. They have years of experience in shirts, jersey, and tailored casual garments. That experience matters, because a garment is not just fabric — it’s also construction, finishing, and attention to detail. Those things determine how a garment fits, how it feels, and how long it lasts.

We also work with carefully selected fabric suppliers. For example:

  • Our Oxford shirts are made from cotton from a mill that works with BCI and OEKO-TEX Standard 100

  • Our polos are made from Coolmax® fabric — a high-performance fibre that helps regulate body temperature and moves moisture away from the body, which makes it more comfortable to wear, especially for bigger bodies

  • Our chinos are made with TENCEL™, a fibre made from wood pulp that is known for its softness, strength, and lower environmental impact compared to many traditional fibres. The fabric mill works with BCI, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and GOTS

But responsibility is also in the way we design.

We focus on fit, strong construction, and durable fabrics, so garments keep their shape and appearance over time. If you can wear a garment for many years, you automatically buy less and throw away less.

For us, responsibility is simple: make garments that are produced well, fit well, and last long.

Why do you focus on timeless pieces instead of seasonal trends?

Because most men don’t need more clothes - they need better clothes.

Instead of designing many trend-driven pieces every season, we focus on a collection of essential garments that you can wear for years. Pieces that work for different moments: work, weekend, travel, dinner, everyday life.

The collection is built around real needs we hear from our clients - and around garments that are easy to combine with the rest of the wardrobe. Not separate pieces, but pieces that work together.

We believe in a small, well-built wardrobe where everything has a role.

If you invest in pieces that fit well, stay in shape, and are easy to combine, you don’t need to replace your wardrobe every season.

For us, timeless design is not about being basic - it’s about designing clothes that still make sense next year, and the year after that.

Is your packaging sustainable?

Yes. We do not use plastic packaging.

All our packaging is made from paper and cardboard, sourced with care and chosen to be recyclable. We also avoid excessive packaging and only use what is necessary to protect the garment during transport.

Our goal is simple: protect the garment well, without unnecessary materials.

about Mr Main Man

Who is behind Mr Main Man?

Mr Main Man was founded by Carlijn Cornelisse, a menswear designer from the Netherlands who has been working in fashion since 2012. She worked for brands like Tommy Hilfiger, C&A, and other international menswear companies, specialising in fit, product development, and collection building.

During her career, she kept seeing the same problem again and again: bigger men were always treated as an afterthought. Most brands either stopped at XL or simply scaled up a regular size without really thinking about the body it was supposed to fit.

Working on plus-size menswear projects made one thing very clear: the issue was not a lack of demand - the issue was a lack of properly designed products. Shirts that pulled open at the front, trousers that slipped down at the back, sleeves that became too long, and proportions that were simply out of balance. The clothes were never really designed for the body they were supposed to fit.

At the same time, she was constantly talking to men about what they actually wanted from clothing. And the answers were almost always the same: they didn’t want to hide their bodies, they didn’t want oversized shapeless clothing - they just wanted clothes that fit well, looked modern, and made them feel good.

That combination - understanding the technical side of garment construction and listening to what men were really missing - became the foundation of Mr Main Man.

Mr Main Man may carry one name, but the brand is built together with a team of specialists in fit, pattern development, production, and marketing. Because building a good garment is never a one-person job.

Where is Mr Main Man based?

Mr Main Man is based in the Netherlands, where all design and product development take place.

From here, we work on fit, fabrics, and collection development. The garments are produced in Portugal, working with specialised menswear manufacturers who focus on quality, construction, and finishing.

This way, we keep full control over design and fit, while working with people who truly understand how to make a good garment.

When was Mr Main Man founded?

Mr Main Man was founded after years of working in the fashion industry and seeing how difficult it was for bigger men to find clothes that actually fit well and looked modern.

The brand started with one clear focus: fit comes first.

Not by scaling up a standard size, but by building the fit from the ground up, based on real bodies.

The first collection therefore focuses on core wardrobe pieces - shirts, polos, and chinos - the garments men wear most often. From there, the collection will slowly expand, based on what customers actually need and ask for.

As we often say:

We’re not here to make noise. We’re here to offer better options for the man who’s rarely had them before.
